Jake Shields fined, suspended six months
A disciplinary complaint from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agenices' Boxing Commission has revealed that former Strikeforce champion and current UFC contender Jake Shields has been suspended for six months.
MMAjunkie.com acquired a copy of the complaint.
Shields revealed the news of the positive drug test last week, stating his regret and guaranteeing that "this will never occur again in my fighting career."
The Ultimate Fighting Championship later released a statement, supporting the Commission in the effort to fight performance-enhancing drugs and other illicit substances in the fight game.
