Arlovski returns to action this December in Russia
Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski is getting back in the cage one final time before the conclusion of 2012.
Arlovski will fight Mike Hayes in the main event of "Battle of Moscow 9."
The event takes place on Dec. 16 in Moscow, and "The Pitbull" announced the news via Twitter.
After stringing together three consecutive knockout wins in 2008, Arlovski hit a rough patch in his career, losing four straight fights between January of 2009 and February of 2012.
But the UFC and Strikeforce veteran has found success in his last four fights, winning three of them. He would have had a fourth win if his no contest against Tim Sylvia allowed soccer kicks, which the promotion under which the fight took place, One FC, now allows completely.
Meanwhile, Hayes just recently had a six-fight winning streak snapped after a June loss to D.J. Linderman. Arlovski is far and away his greatest name-value opponent to date.
