Johnson, Schaub agree to UFC 157 bout

Heavyweights Lavar Johnson and Brendan Schaub are set to square off Feb. 23 in Anaheim at UFC 157.

MMAjunkie.com reported the news this week.

The pair were originally expected to meet at last weekend's UFC on FOX 5 card, but a groin injury sustained by Johnson forced the cancelation of the bout with just one week to go prior to fight night.

Schaub quickly expressed disappointment, but the match up has been rebooked for just over two months after the original date of the fight.

The match will be a chance for both fighters to build back some much-needed momentum in their careers. Johnson is coming off a submission loss to Stefan Struve, and Schaub was recently knocked out for the second time in a row by Ben Rothwell last April.

Johnson's armbar loss was his first inside the Octagon, snapping a two-fight winning streak. Schaub had won four consecutive UFC bouts before he found himself in some unfortunate exchanges with Antonio Rodrigo Noguiera and Ben Rothwell, which lead to consecutive defeats.
