Report: Urijah Faber Returns to Action Against Ivan Menjivar
Former WEC featherweight champion and current UFC bantamweight contender Urijah Faber is set to return to the Octagon against Ivan Menjivar at UFC 157.
Early last week it was reported that Faber would square off against Vaughan Lee, however MMAJunkie.com is now reporting that Tristar team member Ivan Menjivar will match up with "The California Kid".
Previously it was reported the fight would be at UFC 156 but instead has been set for the Anaheim event this upcoming February.
It's easy to see why this fight was made instead, as Lee is coming off a submission loss and is just 1-2 in the UFC, while Menjivar is coming off a spectacular armbar victory over Azamat Gashimov at UFC 154 and a 3-1 UFC record.
Menjivar will actually be looking to avenge a loss to Faber from when the two met at TKO 24: Eruption back on January 28, 2006, when he lost by DQ due to kicking a downed opponent.
The bout will be Faber's first since his decision loss to Renan Barao for the interim bantamweight title at UFC 149 on July 21, 2012.
As of now the only other fight targeted for the event is Dan Henderson vs former UFC light-heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida.
