Askren, Lawal earn stoppage wins on Spike TV

Bellator 86 is in the books, and welterweight champion Ben Askren walked away with his 170 lb. title and his unbeaten record intact.

In his third title defense, Askren decimated Karl Amoussou for the first three rounds of action before the cageside doctors had seen enough. The stoppage is just Askren's second technical knockout win, having not earned a TKO since his first professional fight.

Meanwhile, prior in the evening, light heavyweight Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal finally made his debut under the Bellator banner in the co-main event against Przemyslaw Mysiala.

A heavy favorite, Lawal needed just under four minutes to put away his opponent, earning him his first win since September of 2011. In his last contest, he defeated Lorenz Larkin, but the victory was overturned to a no contest after Lawal failed a drug test.
