White responds to report regarding Rousey's potential earnings at UFC 157
On Sunday, a report surfaced from MMAinterviews.tv regarding the salaries of UFC 157 main event fighters Liz Carmouche and Ronda Rousey, and UFC president Dana White, along with Rousey's manager, quickly refuted the claims.
The report alleged Rousey would earn $75,000 to show with another $75,000 in her pocket should she win, totaling a significant $150,000 potential payday for the women's bantamweight champion in win and show money. However, she allegedly will take a percentage of the pay-per-view cut from the event.
As far as Carmouche's potential earnings, the report disclosed the Strikeforce vet would be paid $12,000 to show with a $12,000 win bonus on the table if she earns an upset victory against the heavy favorite.
The source of these numbers is an individual close to Carmouche's camp.
Darin Harvey, Rousey's manager, claims the reported numbers are incorrect, and White also had something to say.
Going on the Underground Monday morning, White stated that MMAinterviews.tv "is full of shit," refuting the claims made in the report. Neither he, nor Harvey revealed any further information regarding the two women's salaries.
Rousey defends her bantamweight title in the main event of UFC 157 on February 23 against Carmouche. The card features a co-main event between light heavyweights Dan Henderson and Lyoto Machida.
