Dana White Says Quinton Jackson Made $15.2 Million While with the UFC

Apparently the bridge that keeps burning between the UFC and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is a very expensive bridge.

During the media scrum following the UFC on FOX 6 pre-fight press conference, UFC President Dana White put a dollar amount on Jackson’s income throughout his time with the company.

“From 2007 to 2012, and he took a year off to film a movie, he made 15.2 million dollars.” White said.

It was not specified if this amount includes sponsorships and other payments that do not come directly from the UFC.

In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani for MMAfighting.com, the fighter reiterated his displeasure with the UFC over fighter pay.

"MMA is the most exciting sport and we get paid less than everybody - we get paid less than skateboarders,” Jackson said.

As expected, White does not see eye-to-eye with the fighter on that particular statement.

"The guy came out and said skateboarders make more than him," White stated. "Rampage, since 2007, has made $15.2 million in the UFC. I know a lot of skateboarders. It's weird, but I actually live in that world. I'm into that skate and surf and stuff. Unless they're talking about Tony Hawk or Rob Dyrdek or one of those guys, skateboarders aren't making $15.2 million."

For White, though, however troubled the UFC's relationship with Jackson may be, the bridge has not been completely burned and a new UFC contract is still a possibility.

"Whatever he's got in his mind, he's playing this thing the wrong way," said White. "When this fight is over, we're either going to do a new deal or we're not going do a new deal, we'll see what happens. I just think he's handling this thing the wrong way."
