Hector Lombard wanted Michael Bisping, but given the nicknames of these two fighters, it seems UFC matchmakers just couldn't resist.

It will literally be "Thunder" versus "Lightning" on March 3rd, 2013 as middleweight contenders Yushin Okami and Hector Lombard will face off at UFC on FUEL TV 8 in Saitama, Japan.

These competitors are coming off incredibly dominant performances last month, regaining momentum after they were both shockingly upset by Tim Boetsch not too long ago.

Okami's smothering grappling brilliantly neutralized the kickboxing of Alan Belcher at UFC 155 and Lombard utilized his signature speed and power to earn a triumphant KO over Rousimar Palhares at UFC on FX 6.

The winner of this contest will most likely be just one more victory away from a championship match. But since Yushin Okami has already had a shot at Anderson Silva, Lombard may be awarded his first crack at The Spider if his fast hands guide him to a second consecutive knockout in Japan.

Okami and Lombard will probably look to win this match the exact same way they won their last, so it will be interesting to see whose strategy will  come out on top in this fight for middleweight title contention at UFC on FUEL TV 8.
