Sonnen Suing Restaurant Co-Owner
Light Heavyweight no. 1 contender Chael Sonnen is also the co-owner of a pizzeria in West Linn, Oregon called "Mean Street Pizza" that he opened last year with business partner Lee Gamble.
Sonnen is currently suing Gamble, claiming that he not only owes him nearly $23,000 in borrowed money and unpaid rent, but has also embezzled $20,000 as well.
Gamble apparently never paid Chael back after borrowing $10,000 and owes him $12,600 from the rent checks he missed for the past seven months for the West Linn location Sonnen owns and rents out to Gamble, who served as manager of the restaurant.
Sonnen is looking to get a total of $42,600 and wants to charge a 9 percent interest for every year Gamble fails to pay back the full amount.
The new manager said Gamble abandoned his position about a month ago.
"Mean Street Pizza" is the home of the "Jon Jones," a special pizza loaded with chicken and cheese. Get it?
