Constantinos Philippou vs. ‘Jacare’ Souza Expected For UFC on FX 8

A middleweight tilt between Constantinos Philippou and Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza likely takes place at UFC on FX 8 this May.

Souza is coming off an impressive submission win over Ed Herman at the Strikeforce Finale in January. He has won seven of his last eight fights with his only loss coming to Luke Rockhold for the Strikeforce middleweight title.

Meanwhile, Philippou is on a five-fight tear in the UFC, including his technical knockout win over Tim Boetsch at UFC 155 this past December. He is the sixth-ranked middleweight contender.

UFC on FX 8 takes place in Jargua do Sul, Santa Catarina, Brazil on May 18. A middleweight fight between Vitor Belfort and Luke Rockhold headlines the event.
