Maynard may drop to 145 lbs.

It's been a long time since we've seen Gray Maynard. He was supposed to face Joe Lauzon at UFC 155, but was replaced by Jim Miller due to a knee injury.

That injury, along with his disappointing fight with Clay Guida, has put him at somewhat of a crossroads in his career, needing a big move to make up for the relevance and momentum he has lost from these two bumps on his journey back to the top.

His situation calls for a game-changer, and these days the method to restarting the path to success involves changing weight classes. According to Maynard's twitter account, this may be exactly what "The Bully" is planning to do.

Maynard is definitely one of the more muscular lightweights in the UFC, and owes a great deal of his victories to his size and strength. There's no doubt that Gray's rock hard frame and punching power will give him a huge advantage at 145 lbs, but does he have the speed to catch or control these agile competitors?

Many UFC fans might not support the drop to featherweight, but you can't blame Maynard for wanting to go back to being the big guy once again.
