Second UFC women's bout announced for April 13th
Finally, the second women's bout in the largest MMA promotion in the world has been signed, as former Strikeforce women's champion Miesha Tate will take on Cat Zingano at the TUF 17 finale on April 13th.
UFC officials announced the bout Monday.
This will be Tate's first fight since defeating Julie Kedzie by armbar last August. Before that fight she was dethroned by current UFC's women's champion Ronda Rousey in March. She has signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC, per a press release from her management.
Zingano will come into this fight with perfect 7-0 record, having last fought in October against Raquel Pennington, whom she defeated by rear-naked choke.
With news breaking that "Cyborg" Santos has asked for her release, it will be interesting to see if this fight will play into the UFC's contingency plan for a future opponent for Ronda Rousey or Liz Carmouche is she were to defeat the champion.
