WSOF, NBC Sports begin lengthy partnership

The World Series of Fighting will be getting a lot more attention in 2013.

The Las Vegas-based promotion and NBC Sports Network have reached an agreement on a three-year broadcast partnership. The news was announced on Monday.

The agreement guarantees a minimum of six events will be broadcast live on NBC Sports, a network that reaches 80 million homes. Also, events will stream via TV Everywhere by NBCSports.com.

"We are thrilled to call NBC Sports Network the home of World Series of Fighting," WSOF President Ray Sefo said in a press release. "This partnership will allow us to build the World Series of Fighting brand of world-class MMA competition before a dedicated national audience of passionate sports fans and place our athletes on the big stage that they deserve."

The first event to broadcast live in 2013 is WSOF 2, which takes place on March 23 in New Jersey. WSOF 1 aired on NBC Sports Network last November.
