Kennedy vs. Gracie May 18th
The cousin of famed Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu mentor Renzo Gracie, Roger will be the fourth member of this legendary family to step inside the octagon. He went 4-1 in the now-deceased Strikeforce promotion, his only loss to Muhammad Lawal in September of 2011. His last fight was a submission victory via arm triangle choke over Anthony Smith roughly 2 months ago.
Tim Kennedy also attained a rather impressive Strikeforce record, going 6-2 with his only losses to former Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold and expert grappler Ronaldo Souza. Kennedy scored a unanimous decision win over Trevor Smith in his last appearance at the promotions final event in January. Overcoming Gracie's reach advantage and dangerous Jiu-Jitsu will be no easy task, but a victory will definitely re-establish Kennedy as a true threat in the middleweight division.
