Georges St-Pierre to Voice Animated Charcter in Monsters University
UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre already has his next big screen role booked… only he will not be on screen.
On Thursday, St-Pierre tweeted he will be lending his voice to the Quebec-French language version of Disney-Pixar’s Monsters University, the prequel to the famous 2001 blockbuster Monsters Inc., starring John Goodman and Billy Crystal.

GSP will be portraying the character Art, a purple, shaggy monster and a member of the Oozma Kappa fraternity at Monsters University.
“And we have a character, Art, who we always think of as sort of just that weird guy at college that you don’t know anything about,” said the movie’s director, Dan Scanlon, during a media conference call to promote the film, “who’s sort of mysterious and you don’t know anything about his family or where he comes from and we’ve had a lot of fun with him just because we, we don’t know much about him.”
IGN describes the character as, “the equivalent of the ubiquitous dorm stoner, a ‘New Age philosophy major’ who doesn't exactly scream effort.”
Charlie Day, known for his role as Charlie Kelly from the popular FX sitcom It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, voices the role of Art in the American-English language version of the film.
Monsters University will be released to theaters on June 21, 2013.
St-Pierre recently wrapped up filming for Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the upcoming sequel to Captain America: The First Avenger starring Chris Evans, where the UFC champ plays the role of French villain Batroc the Leaper, a mercenary and master of a French form of kickboxing known as savate. The movie is expected hit theaters in April 2014.
