Co-headliners to undergo drug testing at UFC 152
UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and Vitor Belfort will undergo drug tests for UFC 152 this weekend, as will co-main event fighters Demetrious Johnson and Joseph Benavidez.
Since the card takes place in Toronoto on September 22, the UFC has hired a drug-testing company to make sure its fighters are clean.
UFC exec Tom Wright announced the news yesterday.
Along with the co-headliners being tested, other fighters on the card will be tested at random.
The Ontario Athletic Commission does test fighters for communicable diseases prior to competition, but they do not test for illegal substances and performance-enhancing drugs.
The responsibility lies with the promotor to get that form of testing accomplished.
