Carwin injured, out of TUF Finale against Nelson

The UFC is used to situations where a fighter is injured, but that doesn't make the pill any less hard to swallow.

The injury bug has now hit heavyweight contender Shane Carwin, who coached opposite Roy Nelson on the latest season of "The Ultimate Fighter." The two were set to meet at the season finale on December 15.

Dana White went to Twitter to announce the news, while also voicing his frustrations.

A search for a replacement fighter for the event is underway.

Nelson and Carwin were certainly not the two biggest name-value fighters to coach a season of the reality series, but neither are a fan of one another, making the match up a bit more intriguing.

No names have been suggested as of today concerning who could replace Carwin. Perhaps Antonio Silva would have been a viable option, but today the UFC announced that he would be taking on Alistair Overeem next year.
