Silva favorite to win superfight against St. Pierre

The superfight between Anderson Silva and Georges St. Pierre is far from finalized, but an early betting line has surfaced that favors the middleweight champion.

The online gambling site Bovada lists Silva (-185) as a slight favorite over the welterweight champion St. Pierre (+150).

According to BestFightOdds.com, this is the first time St. Pierre has been listed as an underdog since the site started posting odds back in 2007. This is also the closest the odds have been for Silva since his fight with Dan Henderson at UFC 82 when he was just a -160 favorite.

St. Pierre is only a few days removed from his victory over Carlos Condit at UFC 154 , but even before that fight took place fans were clamoring for a superfight with the pound-for-pound king. St. Pierre stated after Saturday's event that he would take a vacation to heal up before planning his next step.

Silva, who looked on from just outside the cage at the Bell Center, did not enter the Octagon to challenge St. Pierre as the welterweight champion gave his speech.

Dana White said prior to UFC 154 that the fight could take place in May with rumored locations being Canada, Brazil, or Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

If the fight should fall through, St. Pierre would likely meet Johny Hendricks in his next contest. Hendricks earned a quick knockout victory over Martin Kampmann in the co-main event of UFC 154.
