Machida vs. Henderson expected for February
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida returns to action against Dan Henderson at UFC 157.
The long-expected match up, though not yet official, is being rumored for the February 23 card, which takes place in Anaheim.
Tatame.com reported the news on Wednesday.
Last August, Henderson went from next in line for a light heavyweight title shot against Jon Jones to just another light heavyweight contender after an injury forced him out of UFC 151. The event was eventually canceled due to Jones' decision to turn down Chael Sonnen as a late replacement.
Prior to that devastating injury, Henderson defeated Mauricio "Shogun" Rua at UFC 139 via decision.
Meanwhile, Machida last fought in August against Ryan Bader, earning a knockout win. Although he remains an elite 205 lb. fighter, he has won just two of his past five contests.
