UFC 154 prelims on FX draw just short of one million viewers

The preliminary card broadcast for UFC 154 on FX drew 980,000 viewers last Saturday.

The number is a slight dip from the one million viewers the prelims broadcast of UFC 153 drew.

MMAjunkie.com revealed the news today.

UFC 154 took place at the Bell Centre in Montreal last Saturday. The main card, which broadcast live on pay-per-view, featured a welterweight title fight between champion Georges St. Pierre and interim champion Carlos Condit.

St. Pierre earned a unanimous decision nod from the judges after five rounds of fighting.

Meanwhile, the preliminary card broadcast featured four fights on FX and three fights on Facebook. After the first two FX fights went to the judges' scorecards, Cyrille Diabate got the fans back into the action with a submission over Chad Griggs.

The final fight did not go as smoothly. Patrick Cote was given the victory due to Alessio Sakara's disqualification. Sakara landed several shots to the back of Cote's head, and the referee called the fight. At first, it seemed as if Sakara would be given the victory, but referee Dan Miragliotta declared Cote the winner.
