Stephens drops to featherweight in 2013
Jeremy Stephens is a lightweight no longer.
The longtime staple of the 155 lb. division plans to drop to the 145 lb. mark, looking for a new chapter in his career in the featherweight division.
Stephens announced the news via Twitter.
My manager wants me to start 2013 as a featherweight (145) and working with @ufc to make it happen. Sounds interesting!

The decision comes shortly after Stephens lost his third straight fight, losing to Yves Edwards via knockout at UFC on FOX 5. He lost to Donald Cerrone and Anthony Pettis prior to his most recent defeat.
He exits 2012 without a win this year.
Stephens' debut as a featherweight has yet to be determined. According to his manager, Ryan Hass, who spoke to MMAjunkie.com, "Lil' Heathen" plans a practice cut in about a month to make sure the move is a viable option.
