Jon Jones: Jones vs Silva Super-fight a possibility
Perhaps Dana White wasn't to far off when he guaranteed Jon Jones and Anderson Silva would fight at some point during their careers.
For the first time light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones opened up on the possibility on fighting friend and middleweight champion Anderson Silva when he spoke with MMAHeat over the weekend.
"Everything is a possibility. I can't count too much out. We were all put on this earth to think big. Fighting Anderson would definitely be a testament to my faith, my warrior spirit; who knows what will happen in the future."
Jones, who has long said he would never face Silva and in return Silva has said the same about "Bones", offered his take on the idea of super-fights in MMA.
"I think super fights are important for the sport. They are important for legacies. Do I have a desire to compete in one? I don't have it (right now). Unless someone comes and challenges me, I'm fine (at light heavyweight)."
With the recent talk of future super-fights such as this, Georges St. Pierre vs Silva, and even Junior dos Santos vs Jones, it seems as though more and more fighters are open to the idea of big fight match-ups which can only mean great things for fight fans.
